What is Quiet Scribe?
Quiet Scribe (formerly MeetVault) is an app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch that records meetings and turns them into transcripts, summaries, meeting minutes, tasks and decisions with on-device AI. The name says what it does: a scribe that quietly takes the minutes of your meeting and keeps them private on your own devices. It is made by Deepyze.
Who is Quiet Scribe for?
Quiet Scribe is for people who spend their day in meetings and need a private written record: founders, managers, consultants, product teams, sales, lawyers, teachers, students, researchers and journalists.
How does Quiet Scribe work?
You record, Quiet Scribe transcribes on your device with Apple's speech recognition, and Apple Intelligence writes the summary, minutes, tasks and decisions. You can then ask questions about the meeting, export a PDF or send tasks to Reminders.
Does Quiet Scribe need an internet connection?
No, recording, transcription and AI minutes run on your device. A connection is needed the first time to download a language model, for iCloud sync, for on-device translation language downloads and for the optional Private Cloud Compute setting.
Does anything leave my device?
Your audio never leaves your own devices and Deepyze never receives your content. If you turn on iCloud, meetings and minutes (not audio) sync through your private iCloud, and if you enable the optional Private Cloud Compute setting, the text of long meetings is processed by Apple without being stored.
Does Quiet Scribe add a bot to my calls?
No. Quiet Scribe never joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or FaceTime calls; on Mac it records your microphone and the system audio directly on your computer.
Which languages does Quiet Scribe support?
Quiet Scribe transcribes and writes minutes in English and Spanish, including regional variants such as English (UK) or Spanish (Spain), and can detect which of the two is spoken. The app interface is in English and Spanish, and you can translate a meeting on device with Apple's Translation.
Which devices does it work on?
Quiet Scribe runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac with Apple Silicon and Apple Watch. Apple Watch needs a paired iPhone with Quiet Scribe, which transcribes the watch's recordings.
What are the system requirements?
Quiet Scribe requires iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 or watchOS 26 or later; the Mac app needs Apple Silicon. Some options, such as Private Cloud Compute, need version 27 or later.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
Yes for AI minutes, Ask and meeting intelligence: they need a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with it turned on. Without it, Quiet Scribe still records and transcribes.
How much does Quiet Scribe cost?
Quiet Scribe is a one-time purchase on the App Store, with no in-app purchases; the exact price for your country is shown on the App Store. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
Is there a subscription?
No. There is no subscription and no minute limit: you pay once and every feature is included.
Can I export or share my meeting notes?
Yes, you can export a PDF in A4 or Letter (optionally with the transcript), copy the meeting as Markdown text, send it by email or use the share sheet. On iPhone you can also share the audio as .m4a.
Does Quiet Scribe sync with iCloud?
Yes, if iCloud is enabled, meetings, transcripts and minutes sync between your devices through your private iCloud database. Audio files are not synced and stay on the device that recorded them.
Can I record on Apple Watch without my iPhone?
Yes. The watch records on its own and sends the audio to your iPhone automatically when it's nearby; the iPhone then transcribes it and writes the minutes.
Do I need permission to record a meeting?
It depends on where you are: in many places you need the consent of the participants. Quiet Scribe reminds you, but checking the rules that apply to you is your responsibility.
